Where Joy Is The Target

This website is a salute to A Course in Miracles.

I'm frequently asked about the meaning of the name, "Target Joy." In 1994, during a downer period in my life, I spent considerable time reflecting on what I wanted more than anything else. Joy ended up at the top of the list. My definition of joy was being happy internally-no matter what the external situations were in my life. It wouldn't matter whether I was in a relationship or not. It wouldn't depend on the size of my bank account or my state of health. Nor would the number and quality of my possessions add to or subtract from this inner state of joy. I remember saying aloud, "my target is joy!" So "target joy" became my catch phrase. I play with the phrase on occasion, saying "Target God" or "Target Love" or "Target Truth." They carry the same meaning for me, as it does in A Course in Miracles.

The purpose of this website is to contribute, in some way, toward helping fellow students of the Course, and truth-seekers in general, to find their own state of inner joy; that they can hit their target.
